Privacy
Your Prism data stays yours.
Prism is a privacy-first iPhone and iPad app for working with AI models locally. This policy explains what Prism stores on your device, when Prism makes network requests, and what Prism does not collect.
1. Who this policy applies to
This privacy policy applies to the Prism app, the Prism model catalog site, and the related Prism project materials published by the Prism project maintainer.
2. What Prism stores on your device
Prism is designed to keep core app data on your device. Depending on how you use the app, Prism may store:
- conversation history and message content
- local model files that you download or import
- app preferences such as inference settings and display choices
- benchmark and generation statistics generated by your local use
- cached model catalog metadata used to keep recommendations available offline
- temporary export files that you explicitly create for sharing
3. What Prism does not collect
Prism is currently designed not to collect personal data for analytics, advertising, profiling, or account creation. In the current release track, Prism does not require user accounts and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- no analytics or telemetry intended to track how you use the app
- no advertising identifiers for marketing or ad targeting
- no sale of personal information
- no cloud account required for core app use
4. When Prism uses the network
Prism is built around local use, but some features involve network requests when you choose to use them.
- Prism may fetch the remote model catalog from prism-model-catalog.pages.dev to refresh model recommendations and metadata.
- Prism may download model files from approved remote hosts when you choose a downloadable model.
- Prism may connect to a direct model URL that you provide when you use URL import.
- Prism may open external links that you choose to tap, such as GitHub links.
After a supported model is already available on your device, Prism is designed to work without continuous internet access for local chat and local history features.
5. Your chat content and model usage
Prism is designed so that your prompts, responses, chat history, and on-device model files remain on your device unless you explicitly export content, download models, import from a remote URL, or use another system feature that shares data outside the app.
If you use a direct model URL or download models from a third-party host, that host may receive standard network information such as your IP address and request metadata under its own privacy practices.
6. Apple platform services
Prism runs on Apple platforms and may rely on Apple system frameworks. Apple may process information according to its own terms and privacy policies when you use the operating system, App Store, device networking, or platform-level AI features.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because Prism stores core data locally, you generally control retention from your own device.
- You can delete chat history inside Prism.
- You can delete local model files inside Prism.
- You can remove the app from your device to remove its local container data, subject to how iOS and iPadOS manage app data.
- You can delete exported files from wherever you saved or shared them.
8. Children and age suitability
Prism is not designed as a children's app. The app can generate open-ended model output and should be used according to the age rating and platform controls provided through the App Store and device settings.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Prism changes. When it is updated, the effective date at the top of this page will also be updated.
